Embracing My Rural Identity
Dr. Jessica "Jess" Clark, a small-town girl born and reared near Mount Rainier, has found inspiration and strength in her rural upbringing. Growing up amidst the breathtaking landscapes of the Pacific Northwest, she developed a profound love for the natural world and a deep sense of community. These early experiences shaped her core values of environmental stewardship, inclusivity, and a strong desire to create positive change.
As a devoted wife and loving mother, Dr. Clark embraces her most cherished titles with pride and prioritizes them above all else. Together with her high school sweetheart, Mr. Dr. Clark, she has nurtured a strong and supportive partnership that has been the foundation of their shared educational journey.
Joined by her husband, Dr. Clark embarked on an educational adventure that took them from Central Washington University to North Dakota State University. Together, they nurtured their shared passion for learning and personal growth, supporting one another every step of the way.
Dr. Clark's upbringing in a family of entrepreneurial automotive repair shop owners instilled in her a strong work ethic, resourcefulness, and a drive for innovation. The lessons she learned during those formative years have shaped her into an effective leader who understands the importance of adaptability and problem-solving. As a first-generation college graduate, Dr. Clark is deeply committed to creating opportunities for others in higher education. She sees herself as a bridge, guiding students from diverse backgrounds to success and empowering them to navigate the ever-evolving landscape of academia.
